The Wandervögel Orchester, with conductor Hans Bund, and the Hitlerjugend choir recorded this potpourri in 1933. Telefunken published this potpourri on Monday, May 22, 1933, in Berlin, Germany. Unfortunately, the name of the tenor singer that accompanied the singing voices was not written down, so his identity is lost to history. Most likely, the man was a tutor or a teacher of the Hitlerjugend who followed the usual educational curriculum, which required students to learn folk music as one of the important topics. However, due to the vocal similarities between the tenor who sang this song and the man who sang Lied der Schiffswache, this man was most likely Herbert Ernst Groh. According to Spotify, it was a part of a collection called Popular Music in Germany, 1934-1944 [Third Reich Hits], Volume 2. The recording heard in the audio is from side B or part 2 of that vinyl.

The melodies included in the potpourri in order are Wohlan, die Zeit ist kommen, Heckenrosenlied, Als ich ein jung Geselle war, Glückauf, der Steiger kommt, Morgen marschieren wir, Jetzt kommt die Zeit, and Horch, was kommt von ("eigene Bearbeitung"). The melodies are very joyful German folksongs that were passed down for centuries and sung as a tradition among German families.
